Arden Connemara Stud resulted from a life long love of ponies, a deep respect for the wonderful Connemara breed, and decades of involvement in equestrian sports. Our ponies are valued, selected and bred on the basis of their outstanding temperament, conformation, bloodlines and performance capability. With a focus on breeding performance ponies suited to both adults and children, calm and willing temperaments are of utmost importance. Breeding them brings a joy that we hope their new owners can share in.
Why own a Connemara Pony?
Connemara Ponies are incredibly versatile and have a deserved reputation of being excellent riding ponies, ideal for the whole family. They excel in all disciplines, but their athleticism and talent ensure that they are particularly talented jumpers. Connemaras have also been traditionally used as harness ponies, a growing sport in Australia. They are generally low maintenance and hardy, coping well with the extremes of the Australian climate. They are a Mountain and Moreland breed also known for their beauty. Families who own Connemaras usually become raving fans. We certainly are.
