Glenormiston Fintra foals - Welcome Arden Finlay.

Arden Finlay arrives.

With all the newborn cuteness, Finlay arrived at the respectable hour of 9.30pm. He was birthed as we walked towards the foal yard and it was lovely to watch the first moments of life and the nurturing provided by an experienced mother. He was standing and drinking within 20 minutes and I am always amazed at how the dam works to place the suckling newborns in the correct position to access the udder, often resting one hind leg to make the milk source obvious. Although Finlay is presently jet black with a white star on his forehead, he will turn grey as have all of Fintra’s previous foals. Finlay is expected to mature to 14hh and be a great performance prospect with a nature suitable for junior riders. That has certainly been the case

His dam Fintra is one of our most favourite mares, having been ridden by a younger Lachlan for several years at Pony Club. She had been leased to James Balfe at …… Stud and was returned last year in foal to the lovely young stallion, Uncle Joe. Finlay is Joe’s first colt, having sired only fillies so far.

Finlay will be available for purchase upon weaning.
